Woman dies due to lack of medical access amid heavy snowfall in Neelum Valley

A woman tragically lost her life on Saturday after being unable to reach a hospital due to heavy snowfall that had blocked all routes in the Neelum Valley. This marks the second such death of a woman in the region, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by residents due to inadequate medical services and the closure of roads during severe weather.
The woman, who had been ailing, was in the process of being transferred to the hospital for treatment. However, the continuous snowfall had led to the closure of all roads, preventing her from reaching medical care in time. She passed away on her way to the hospital due to the blockage of roads caused by the adverse weather conditions.
In the aftermath of the heavy snowfall, highway authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) focused their efforts on keeping the roads open, particularly in the upper Neelum Valley and surrounding areas, where snow accumulation caused major disruptions. Despite these efforts, many areas, including those with residents requiring urgent medical attention, were left isolated due to impassable roads.
