On Monday, World Bank (WB) executive directors came to Islamabad to assess the status of a $40 billion development plan intended to support Pakistan’s economy.

During their tour to Pakistan, the visiting group is expected to meet with federal ministers, including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the government and the WB team will discuss how to best execute $40 billion in funds under the country partnership framework, which the international lender would give to Pakistan over a ten-year period.

In addition to reviewing the government’s actions, the WB delegation, which is returning to Pakistan after almost a decade, will visit every province to get feedback from local administrations.
