Lahore High Court to Hear Imran Khan’s Bail Petitions in May 9

The Lahore High Court has scheduled the hearing of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s bail petitions related to the May 9 arson and rioting cases. The hearing will take place on April 10, with a two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Shahbaz Rizvi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh set to preside over the proceedings.
During the session, the court has called upon special prosecutors to present their arguments regarding the cases. Imran Khan, through his lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar, has filed bail applications in eight separate cases connected to the violent incidents that occurred on May 9.
The cases in question involve the attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower, as well as disturbances at Shadman police station and various other locations across the country. These incidents, which followed the arrest of Imran Khan, led to widespread protests and clashes between security forces and Khan’s supporters.
