Pakistani actress and model Alizeh Shah has broken her silence on the toll online trolling and constant criticism have taken on her mental and physical health.

In a recent emotional post, following her decision to quit social media, Alizeh directly addressed her critics, saying, “The relentless negativity has severely affected my health and pushed me into isolation.” She announced that she will not only be distancing herself from social media but also from people in her immediate surroundings.

“I’m exhausted by the nonsense,” she wrote. “I can’t even begin to describe the condition I’m in.” The actress also revealed that, despite updating her social media bio to state that she was alive, some individuals continued to spread false rumors about her death. Shockingly, she said, several news channels even contacted her parents to confirm if she had passed away.

“Imagine what my parents must have gone through,” she added. “At this point, I don’t know when—if ever—I’ll return to social media or the entertainment industry.” She made a heartfelt plea to the public: “Please, for God’s sake, stop contacting my family and spreading fake news. Let me live in peace.”

Just a day earlier, Alizeh Shah had announced her exit from social media, calling it “a place worse than hell.”
