India Imposes Complete Ban on Imports from Pakistan Amid Rising Tensions

In a provocative move reflecting its growing war hysteria, India has imposed a complete ban on both direct and indirect imports from Pakistan.

According to a notification issued by the Indian Ministry of Commerce, products originating from Pakistan and arriving via third countries have also been banned with immediate effect. The new trade policy includes a specific paragraph stating a complete prohibition on Pakistani exports.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in India stated that the decision was taken in the name of “national security and public interest”. Additionally, ships carrying the Pakistani flag have been barred from docking at Indian ports.

This comes after India announced the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty following the alleged death of 26 tourists in the Pahalgam area of Indian-occupied Kashmir on April 22.
