Indian cricketers jerseys worth millions of rupees stolen

Mumbai – A surprising theft has rocked the Indian cricket world as 261 official team jerseys were stolen from the BCCI’s official merchandise store located inside Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be over ₹6.5 lakh (approximately USD 7,800).
The theft came to light during a routine stock audit, when officials noticed several items missing from the inventory. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, a security manager was seen leaving the premises with a cardboard box suspected to contain the missing jerseys.
Mumbai Police have registered an FIR under Section 306 and initiated an investigation. The accused, reportedly a resident of Mira Road East, allegedly entered the store without authorisation on June 13.
The complaint was officially lodged by Hemang Bharat Kumar, a BCCI employee based at the stadium office, on July 17.
According to the complaint, the stolen items included official jerseys from various Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, such as
-
- Mumbai Indians
- Chennai Super Kings
- Delhi Capitals
- Royal Challengers Bangalore
