Pakistan and Italy sign MoU

In a landmark move for international cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Italian Cricket Federation (FCRI) have signed a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement follows Italy’s recent qualification for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, marking a new era in cricket collaboration. The MoU was officially signed by PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed and FCRI President Maria Lorena Haz Paz.

The focus of the MoU is to advance both men’s and women’s cricket in Italy. As Italy rises in international cricket, this partnership aims to strengthen the country’s cricketing structures, making it more competitive globally. Officials described the agreement as a key milestone that will boost technical, structural, and competitive growth in Italian cricket.

The collaboration will involve several initiatives, including the exchange of coaching and technical experts. Both boards will organize joint development programs, training camps, workshops, and friendly matches. Additionally, the partnership will support the development of cricket infrastructure in Italy and assist youth programs to grow the sport at the grassroots level. These efforts are expected to accelerate the spread of cricket in Italy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, PCB COO Sumair Ahmad Syed emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to global cricket development. He highlighted that this partnership would not only enhance cricket but also deepen cultural and sporting ties between Pakistan and Italy. FCRI President Maria Lorena Haz Paz welcomed the agreement, noting that it aligns with Italy’s long-term plan to improve cricket standards. She also mentioned that Italy is seeking further collaborations with other international boards to grow the sport.

Both boards agreed that the partnership will also strengthen diplomatic and cultural relations between Pakistan and Italy. The PCB expressed optimism that this collaboration will yield long-term benefits for players, coaches, and fans in both countries.
