Pakistan Cancels 45 LNG Cargoes from Qatar and Italy Until 2027

Pakistan has announced that it has canceled 45 LNG cargoes from Qatar and Italy as part of its long-term supply plans. Officials said this decision has been taken after reviewing future import needs, and the cancellation of 45 LNG cargoes from Qatar and Italy is now part of the country’s fuel management strategy.
Sources confirmed that Pakistan has canceled 24 LNG cargoes that were expected to come from Qatar in 2026. These cancellations are linked to adjustments in Pakistan’s long-term LNG purchase agreements.
According to details, Pakistan will now import only one LNG cargo from the Italian company in 2026 instead of 12. The only shipment from Italy is expected to arrive in January 2026, while the rest have been canceled to reduce extra supply.

Sources also said that for the year 2027, Pakistan has canceled 10 out of 12 LNG cargoes planned to be purchased from the Italian company. This step is part of the country’s effort to manage LNG demand more efficiently.
Officials added that the cancellation process for all the shipments under the long-term contracts has been completed. They stated that the decision to cancel 45 LNG cargoes from Qatar and Italy was made according to Pakistan’s long-term agreements and future energy needs.
