US Attack in Venezuela Kills 40, Claims Local Official

A Venezuelan senior official claimed that a US attack in the country resulted in the deaths of 40 people, including both civilians and military personnel. The attack reportedly took place early on Saturday, according to the official who spoke on condition of anonymity. The Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Coats, said during a press conference that US helicopters carried out the mission to remove President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. One helicopter was targeted but remained operational, and all American aircraft returned safely.
