PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold a public gathering at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on January 11. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the rally is part of PTI’s street movement ahead of the February 8 protest.

CM Afridi will address the rally at 4:30pm and spread jailed PTI founder Imran Khan’s message across Sindh. He urged Sindh residents to support PTI’s preparations, promising “the largest rally in Karachi’s history.”

KP CM’s aide Shafi Jan confirmed Afridi will meet Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah on January 12. Afridi will also hold meetings with PTI leadership at Insaf House and visit the press club during his Sindh trip.

The PTI has formally requested permission to hold a public gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah near the Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum. Karachi Region PTI President Raja Azhar assured authorities the rally will remain peaceful and follow the code of conduct.

The rally aligns with the opposition alliance Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aeen-Pakistan’s (TTAP) street movement marking the second anniversary of February 8, 2024 elections. TTAP leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas recently visited Lahore to coordinate political activities for the campaign.

During his Sindh visit, Afridi will tour prison facilities in Karachi’s District South, Korangi, and Malir to meet inmates. He will also visit Hyderabad, address the Bar and press club, attend ISF Convention, meet Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, and address Sindh High Court Bar.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon assured Afridi of free movement, security, and protocol during the visit. He stressed PTI activities must follow the law and avoid public nuisance, while ideological criticism remains part of politics.
