Surge in CCD Police Encounters Across Punjab Leaves 11 Suspects Dead

A noticeable increase in police operations by the Crime Control Department Punjab has been reported across the province, with multiple alleged encounters taking place in a single day.
According to police sources, at least 11 suspects were killed in five separate encounters across different cities, raising concerns and drawing public attention.
In Lahore, six suspects were reportedly killed during operations conducted in areas including Defence, Iqbal Town, and Chuhng.

Authorities stated that the suspects were involved in serious criminal activities and were wanted in various cases. The encounters were described as responses to armed resistance by the suspects.
In Sheikhupura, three proclaimed offenders were killed during an exchange of fire with CCD officials.
Meanwhile, in Sahiwal, two alleged robbers were also killed in a similar encounter with the department.
The recent surge in such incidents has sparked debate over policing methods, with calls for transparency and accountability alongside efforts to curb rising crime.
