Weather alert issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, GB, Azad Kashmir

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert for several regions of Pakistan. The warning covers Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir for the next 12 hours.

According to the NDMA, rainfall is expected in multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Khyber, Waziristan, Mansehra, Mohmand, Buner, Haripur, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Sawabi, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kohat. Snowfall is likely in higher altitude areas.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain and snow are expected in Gilgit, Astore, Ghizer, Diamer, Skardu, Hunza, and Shigar. Meanwhile, in Azad Kashmir, districts including Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Havelian, Kotli, Bhimber, and Neelum are forecasted to experience rain and snow in elevated areas.

The NDMA warned that slippery roads and traffic disruptions may occur due to these weather conditions. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take all necessary precautionary measures. Rescue and road restoration agencies have been placed on high alert to respond to potential emergencies.
