The Iraqi government has executed former Major General Saadoun Sabri Jamil Al-Qaisi, a close aide of Saddam Hussein, for his involvement in crimes against humanity. Al-Qaisi, who held key security positions during Saddam’s regime, was arrested last year and faced trial for multiple murders. The execution of Saddam Hussein’s aide Saadoun Al-Qaisi marks the conclusion of one of the long-standing cases from the Saddam era.

According to Arab media, Saadoun Al-Qaisi served as a Major General during Saddam Hussein’s government. He was accused of participating in the 1980 murder of prominent Iraqi cleric Mohammad Baqir Al-Sadr and his sister Bint Al-Huda.

In addition to these high-profile killings, Al-Qaisi was also charged with involvement in the deaths of other civilians. The Iraqi authorities stated that he was tried in a fair judicial process before receiving the death sentence.

Following his trial and conviction, the execution of Saddam Hussein’s aide Saadoun Al-Qaisi was carried out on Monday, ending his long legal case.
