Federal Government Plans Major Operation Against Banned Organisations

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to launch a large-scale operation against banned groups nationwide. Officials made the decision during a high-level security meeting. Mohsin Naqvi chaired the session. Inspectors General of Police from all four provinces attended the meeting. Authorities reviewed the overall law and order situation. They agreed that strong action was necessary.
During the meeting, police officials gave detailed briefings. Each province shared updates on security challenges. Officials also discussed emerging threats across the country. In particular, they examined reports about the possible presence of Islamic State, also known as Daesh, in Pakistan. The discussion focused on preventive measures. Authorities stressed the need for coordinated intelligence sharing.
Moreover, participants discussed strategies to dismantle sleeper cells. They explored ways to strengthen surveillance and rapid response systems. Law enforcement agencies will enhance cooperation. The government aims to eliminate networks of outlawed organisations. Officials believe early action can prevent major incidents. Therefore, they plan to intensify operations in sensitive areas.

Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi addressed a passing-out parade at Police Lines Islamabad. He urged police officers to remain vigilant. He emphasized the importance of maintaining security in the capital. Furthermore, he instructed officers to respond quickly to threats. He highlighted professionalism and discipline within the force.
In addition, Naqvi called for better public dealing at police stations. He said officers must treat citizens with respect. He warned that there is no place for corrupt elements in the force. He referred to such individuals as “black sheep.” The government now plans strict accountability measures. Officials believe improved policing will strengthen public trust.
