Fakhar Zaman likely to be included in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad

Islamabad – Pakistan’s star left-handed batter, Fakhar Zaman, is expected to be recalled for the 2025 Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and the UAE.
As national teams begin to finalise their squads for the prestigious tournament, reports suggest that Pakistan, the defending champions, is preparing a well-balanced lineup. The squad is expected to feature seven batsmen, four fast bowlers, three spinners, and one wicketkeeper. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan is anticipated to be the only wicketkeeper in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy squad.
The 34-year-old Zaman, who has represented Pakistan in 82 international One-Day matches, will have his inclusion contingent on meeting fitness requirements as stipulated in his central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Zaman’s recent performances have raised hopes of his return to the national team. After being left out of the squads for tours to Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, the left-hander demonstrated impressive form in the Champions T20 tournament, scoring 303 runs at an average of 30.30 in ten matches, including two half-centuries.
