UAE Announces New Public Safety Law with Strict Rules

United Arab Emirates has announced the implementation of a new public safety law aimed at strengthening security measures in public places and events across the country.
According to authorities, the new regulations will take effect from June 1 and will apply nationwide. The law focuses on improving safety standards in crowded areas and public gatherings.
Under the new rules, public venues must ensure safe entry and exit points for visitors. Adequate lighting and clearly defined capacity limits will also be required to reduce risks during large gatherings.
Event organizers will be required to keep fire-fighting equipment at venues and prepare clear emergency evacuation plans. Additionally, first aid services and trained security personnel must be available at events.
The law also bans the possession of explosive materials and fireworks without proper permits. Strict restrictions will apply to the use, storage, and transportation of hazardous or flammable substances.
Authorities have also issued safety guidelines for beaches, allowing swimming only during designated hours and urging the public to stay away from restricted areas.
Officials stated that violations of the new law could result in fines ranging from 500 dirhams to 1 million dirhams, while repeat offenses within the same year may lead to penalties of up to 2 million dirhams.
