Saudi Arabia’s official news agency Saudi Press Agency has revealed that recent attacks have severely impacted key energy projects across the country, leading to a noticeable decline in oil and gas production and supply.

According to the report, an attack on a major oil pumping station disrupted the transportation of around 700,000 barrels of oil per day. In addition, strikes on the Manifa oil field and Khurais oil field resulted in a combined production loss of approximately 300,000 barrels per day. Overall, Saudi Arabia’s total oil production capacity has reportedly dropped by up to 600,000 barrels per day.

The Saudi Press Agency further reported that major industrial and energy facilities—including STORP in Jubail, Ras Tanura, SAMREF in Yanbu, and the Riyadh refinery—were also targeted in the attacks. These disruptions have not only affected domestic operations but are also beginning to impact global oil supply chains.

Additionally, a fire at processing plants in Juaymah has disrupted liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports, further straining energy markets. The attacks have resulted in the death of one security personnel, while seven Saudi citizens sustained injuries.

The report warned that if such attacks continue, global oil supplies could face further reductions, potentially triggering a more severe energy crisis in international markets.

Experts note that any disruption in supply from Saudi Arabia—one of the world’s leading oil producers—can have far-reaching consequences for the global economy. Reduced output may lead to rising energy prices and increased economic uncertainty worldwide.
