Judicial Commission Approves Transfer of Three Islamabad High Court Judges

The Judicial Commission approved the transfer of three Islamabad High Court judges in a key decision. The commission reached this outcome by majority vote, signaling a significant administrative move within the judiciary.
The meeting took place under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. According to the official statement, most members supported the decisions, including nine votes in favor of transferring Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
The commission approved the transfer of Mohsin Akhtar Kayani to the Lahore High Court. Similarly, it decided to transfer Babar Sattar to the Peshawar High Court, also through a majority vote.

In addition, the commission approved the transfer of Saman Rafat Imtiaz to the Sindh High Court. Meanwhile, recommendations for transferring Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Soomro were withdrawn.
Officials stated that vacant positions created by these transfers will be filled through transferred judges only. Therefore, authorities will not use these vacancies for new appointments, ensuring continuity after the Judicial Commission approves transfer decisions.
