Three alleged robbers involved in multiple street crime incidents were killed during a police encounter in Rawalpindi, law enforcement officials said on Friday.

According to police, the operation was carried out against suspects involved in a series of armed robberies in the city. During the exchange of fire, all three suspects were killed on the spot. Police described the incident as a targeted action against organised street crime networks operating in the area.

Officials further revealed that the deceased suspects were involved in a violent robbery incident that took place a day earlier on Adiala Road. During that robbery, the suspects allegedly opened fire, resulting in the killing of a shopkeeper. The incident had triggered strong public concern and prompted intensified police action.

Police sources also claimed that the individuals killed in the encounter were repeat offenders and were wanted in multiple criminal cases, including hundreds of prior complaints related to theft, armed robbery, and other serious offences.

Following the encounter, police and security personnel secured the area and conducted a search operation to ensure no additional suspects were present or able to escape. Authorities also collected evidence from the scene for further investigation.

Officials stated that efforts are ongoing to trace any remaining members of the alleged gang and to dismantle networks involved in street crimes across Rawalpindi.

Law enforcement authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling rising street crime in the city and ensuring the safety of citizens through continued intelligence-based operations and targeted actions against criminal elements.

Further investigations are underway to verify the full criminal background of the deceased suspects and their possible links to other criminal activities in the region.
