Aircraft engineers of the national airline have started a protest over their demands, which has led to aircraft engineers’ protest halting national airline flight operations across the country. The engineers stopped giving clearance for planes, causing multiple domestic and international flights to be delayed. Many passengers, including a large number of Umrah travelers, faced serious difficulties due to the halted flights.

The Society of Aircraft Engineers stated that they will not resume work until the CEO of the national airline addresses their concerns. According to the airline spokesperson, this protest aims to sabotage the airline’s operations and push for privatization. They also noted that striking or stopping work is legally considered an offense under the Essential Services Act, and alternative engineering support is being arranged from other airlines to resume flights soon.
