Popular Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah shared a heartfelt and emotional message on Eid-ul-Adha, sparking meaningful dialogue across social media. While acknowledging the religious importance of Qurbani (sacrifice), she also drew attention to the often-overlooked aspect of compassion toward animals.

In an Instagram story, Alizeh wrote:

“This has been on my heart for a long time. I know that Qurbani is a Sunnah — a sacred tradition commemorating the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). But are we truly preserving its spirit?”

She urged her followers to be more mindful during Eid celebrations:

“Please avoid sharing graphic images and videos soaked in blood. Don’t turn the fear and pain of animals into memes. Instead of showing off the size and number of your sacrificial animals, let’s promote humility.”

Expressing her emotions further, Alizeh said:

“Every year, I see blood flowing on the streets and fear in the eyes of animals. They can’t speak — but they can feel. Can’t we honour their emotions too?”

She clarified that her message was not a criticism of religious practices but a gentle reminder:

“Islam teaches us compassion and respect. Can we not perform Qurbani with that same spirit?”

Alizeh concluded her message with a sincere note:
