ATC extends physical remand of accused in Mustafa Amir murder case

Karachi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday extended the physical remand of the accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case for five more days.
The court also directed a medical examination of the accused, Armaghan and Shiraz, after allegations of maltreatment in custody.
During the hearing at Central Jail, accused Armaghan claimed that he was being denied food and subjected to mockery by police officials. He further alleged that he had not been allowed to use the washroom for 10 days, a claim that the judge challenged.
His lawyer, Advocate Abid Zaman, requested a medical examination, which the court approved. The judge also permitted Armaghan to meet his parents inside the courtroom.
The investigating officer informed the court that police had found the tortured girl, whose statement would soon be recorded. Additionally, authorities would investigate money laundering and drug-related charges linked to the case.
Meanwhile, the police submitted a report regarding Armaghan’s arrest in a separate case involving kidnapping and illegal arms possession.
The case continues to unfold, with further investigations expected in the coming days.
