ATC Sentences 75 Accused in Rana Sanaullah Residence Attack Case
The Anti-Terrorism Court announced its verdict in the 9 May attack case on former federal minister Rana Sanaullah’s dera.

 

According to court sources, 75 accused were sentenced to various prison terms, while 34 were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

The court sentenced prominent leaders including Umar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Zartaj Gul to 10 years in prison each.

Several other political figures, including Mian Jawad, Abdul Rehman, and Jawad Hassan, also received 10-year prison terms.

Those handed 10-year sentences also include Ismail Sila, Bilal Nawaz, Khush Bakht Raza Shah, Danish Bhutto, and Zeeshan alias Ahsan.

More names on the list include Ishaq Ghori, Mian Rashid Nadeem, Ali Haider, Muhammad Khalid, and multiple other political workers.

The court also sentenced MPA Sheikh Shahid Javed to three years in prison along with several other lower-profile party activists.

Among those receiving three-year terms are Jibran, Afzal, Tayyab, Iqrar Shahid, Arslan Iqbal, and Muhammad Rafiq.

In contrast, the court acquitted Fawad Chaudhry, Zain Qureshi, Makhdoom Zubair Qureshi, and several others due to insufficient evidence.

A total of 34 individuals, including leaders like Mustafa, Malik Chand, and Naveed Khan, were cleared of all charges.

This case stemmed from violent incidents on 9 May, when Rana Sanaullah’s political office was attacked during nationwide unrest.
