Baba Guru Nanak’s 486th Anniversary at Kartarpur; No Indian Pilgrims Allowed
Lahore: The 486th death anniversary (Joti Jot) of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikh faith, will be observed on September 22 at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur.

Despite Pakistan’s invitation, the Indian government has not allowed Sikh pilgrims from India to attend the ceremonies. With both the Wagah/Attari border and the Kartarpur Corridor closed, no Indian devotees will be able to take part in the event.

However, Sikh pilgrims from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and other countries have started arriving to pay their respects at the sacred site.

Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, head of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, expressed disappointment over the situation, stating that preventing Sikhs from visiting their holy places amounts to a violation of their fundamental religious rights.
