Barrister Gohar, in a media interaction outside Adiala Jail, provided insights into the current state of negotiations with the government, specifically addressing remarks made by Irfan Siddiqui, the spokesperson for the government’s negotiation committee.

Barrister Gohar stated that it was not appropriate for Irfan Siddiqui to disrupt the negotiations at this stage. He emphasised that the discussions held between their side and the government had primarily focused on the law and order situation, and it should not be misrepresented or turned into an issue.

“We want to continue negotiations with the government. Our condition is that a judicial commission should be formed. The founder of PTI has clearly stated that if the commission is not established within seven days, the fourth meeting will not take place,” he added.

Gohar further explained that they were waiting for the government’s response regarding the next steps in the process. He warned that without the formation of the judicial commission, continuing negotiations would be futile.

He also suggested that the government appeared anxious due to its reliance on “Form 47” and urged the administration to focus on the negotiations. “We believe that the success of these negotiations is the success of Pakistan,” he stated.
