Federal Budget 2025–26: Trillions of rupees allocated for defence, pensions, subsidies, and grants

Islamabad: The federal government has allocated substantial funds for key sectors, including defence, pensions, subsidies, and grants in the 2025–26 budget.

According to budget documents, Rs. 2,550 billion has been earmarked for defence spending, covering the Army, Air Force, Navy, and related institutions. Rs. 971 billion is allocated for civil administration, including federal ministries and departments. Rs. 1,055 billion will go toward pensions for retired government employees. Rs. 1,186 billion is set aside for subsidies, primarily for electricity, agricultural tube wells, and the industrial sector.

Rs. 1,928 billion has been allocated as grants, including funding for the Benazir Income Support Programme, development in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the merged tribal districts.
