Beijing: China has issued licenses to two companies for operating autonomous passenger drones, marking a significant step in the development of the commercial flying taxi industry.
According to news agencies, Chinese regulators have made this major move as part of efforts to accelerate the growth of the low-altitude economy. These efforts include the development of technologies ranging from delivery drones to blimps and flying cars.
It is worth noting that in 2016, Chinese company EHang Incorporated developed the world’s first passenger drone, named EHang 184, which set the stage for China’s advancements in aerial technology.
