CM Maryam Nawaz announces Ration Card distribution for 1.25 million people

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the distribution of ration cards to 1.25 million deserving individuals starting from May 1, aimed at providing relief in household expenses.

Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore for the distribution of assistive devices and wheelchairs to persons with disabilities, the Chief Minister encouraged special persons to register themselves on the Social Welfare Department’s portal to avail of government support and facilities.

Maryam Nawaz expressed satisfaction over the government’s shift in priorities, saying,

“I’m glad that the direction of governance has changed — now the government reaches the people at their doorstep. If the state holds the hand of special individuals, their difficulties become easier.

She emphasized that the ration card initiative is part of a broader effort to support vulnerable communities and reduce the burden of inflation on low-income families.
