England defeat India by 22 runs in thrilling Lord’s test


London: England edged past India by 22 runs in a nail-biting third Test at Lord’s, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Chasing a modest target of 193 runs, India were bowled out for 170, despite starting the final day at 58/4. Rishabh Pant was dismissed for 9, KL Rahul scored a crucial 39, while Washington Sundar fell for a duck and Nitish Kumar Reddy managed only 13.
At the lunch break, India had reached 112/8, but England sealed the match soon after.
Earlier, both teams posted 387 runs in their respective first innings. England were then bundled out for 192 in the second innings, setting India a target of 193.
Notable performances included centuries from Joe Root (England) and KL Rahul (India) in the first innings.
