Gilgit-Baltistan Government Helicopter Crashes in Chilas, Five Killed

Chilas: A helicopter belonging to the Gilgit-Baltistan government crashed in the Thor area due to a reported technical fault, leaving five crew members, including the pilot and co-pilot, dead.
Government spokesperson Faizullah Firaq confirmed the incident, stating that two pilots and three technical staff were on board at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, the FCN Commander, DG Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts, and the Commissioner of Diamer reached the crash site, where a large number of locals had also gathered.
According to officials, efforts are underway to extinguish the fire that broke out after the crash. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
