Government Candidate Wins Senate Seat in Punjab Assembly Election

In a significant political development, Hafiz Abdul Karim, the government-backed candidate, has secured a decisive victory in the Senate by-election held for a vacant seat in the Punjab Assembly.

According to the Presiding Officer, Abdul Karim received 242 votes, while the opposition candidate,, Mehr Abdul Sattar,, managed to secure only 99 votes, finishing second.

A total of 345 votes were cast during the polling process, out of which 3 votes were rejected due to technical discrepancies. The election process concluded peacefully and without any major incident.

This by-election was closely watched as a barometer of political strength in the province, with the government reinforcing its majority in the provincial legislature through this win.
