Govt Aims for Financial Balance in Power Sector, Says Deputy PM Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government’s resolve to take balanced decisions that ensure financial discipline while protecting the public from unnecessary burdens, according to a press release issued on Saturday.

Chairing a high-level meeting on the power sector, Dar reviewed ongoing challenges and strategies for financial sustainability. The session was attended by ministers for power and petroleum, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from the finance and power ministries.

The discussions focused on maintaining economic stability within the power sector while also safeguarding consumer interests.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the World Bank has approved $194 million in funding for education and water projects in Balochistan. The funding aims to enhance educational infrastructure and ensure access to clean water in the underserved province.
