Hammad Azhar formally announces not to contest election on his father’s vacant seat

Lahore: PTI leader Hammad Azhar has officially announced that he will not contest elections from NA-129. Instead, he has nominated his cousin Arsalan Ahmed to run for the seat left vacant after the passing of his father, Mian Azhar.
Hammad Azhar explained that it would not be possible for him to lead an election campaign or take the oath if elected. Therefore, the decision was made to field Arsalan Ahmed, whom he described as a capable and committed young leader.
He further highlighted that Arsalan previously served as chairman of Lahore’s fruit and vegetable market committee during the PTI government. Hammad praised his performance and expressed confidence that he would easily secure victory in the upcoming election.
The PTI leader also revealed that his sister will take charge of Arsalan’s election campaign. He added that Arsalan was raised under the guidance of his late father and was treated as a second son by Mian Azhar.
Hammad Azhar stressed that Arsalan faces no legal hurdles, including false cases from May 9, as he was abroad during that time. He assured supporters that Arsalan’s candidacy is strong and free from risks of forced disqualification.
