KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain with thunderstorms in Karachi due to a strong low-pressure system. This system is currently over the Gulf of Kutch and pushing moist winds into Sindh. As a result, the city may receive rainfall on Thursday and Friday. Some areas could also face heavy showers with strong winds. Citizens are advised to take precautions during the expected weather changes.

According to the weather report, winds are blowing from the northeast at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour. The humidity level in Karachi stands at 74 percent. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 26.4°C in the morning. The maximum temperature could rise to 36°C during the day. Officials say weather conditions may remain unstable over the next two days.

Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are also likely in southeastern Sindh districts starting from the night of October 1. The Met Office expects heavy rainfall in some areas between October 1 and October 3. These areas include Khairpur, Tharparkar, and Umerkot. Other affected districts may be Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Hyderabad. The weather may also impact rural and coastal parts of the province.

Heavy showers are particularly expected in towns like Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, and Diplo. Windstorms may also hit areas such as Kaloi, Chachro, and Dhali. The forecast extends to other districts like Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, and Badin. Coastal towns in Thatta and Sujawal are also on alert. Authorities have warned residents to stay updated with official weather reports.

In conclusion, weather officials are closely monitoring the low-pressure system’s movement. The public is urged to stay indoors during heavy rainfall and avoid waterlogged roads. Emergency services are on standby in affected districts. Citizens should follow safety guidelines during this period. The changing weather may bring relief from heat but also raises concerns of urban flooding.
