Iran Offers Support to Pakistan After Deadly Floods

Iran’s Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, called Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, on Sunday.
During the call, he expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in recent floods. He offered Iran’s assistance for flood relief operations, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Momeni said Iran deeply mourns the human loss caused by heavy rains and floods. He extended condolences to the families of those who died. He prayed for patience and strength for the bereaved. He assured Pakistan that Iran stands ready to provide every possible form of help.
While speaking about the tragedy, Momeni described Pakistan as a “brotherly neighbour”. He said his government and people will stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan. He noted that hundreds of families have been separated from their loved ones. He stressed that Iran is ready to extend practical support.
Responding to the message, Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart. He said the show of solidarity reflects the deep bonds between the two nations. He highlighted that Pakistan and Iran share each other’s joys and sorrows.
Naqvi also addressed the impact of climate change. He explained that Pakistan is facing an unprecedented weather crisis for the first time in its history. He said these extreme events have caused widespread devastation. He warned that such disasters are a growing challenge.
