Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kill At Least 15, Including Women and Children

Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 15 people, including 10 women and children, during overnight attacks and into Sunday, according to local health authorities.
The latest escalation comes after Israel ended its ceasefire with Hamas last month, resuming intense air and ground operations in Gaza. The strikes are reportedly aimed at pressuring Hamas to agree to a new ceasefire and hostage-release deal. However, the renewed violence has worsened the humanitarian crisis in the region, with Israel also restricting the entry of food, fuel, and essential aid into Gaza.
According to reports from Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, one of the latest Israeli airstrikes targeted a tent and a house in the southern part of the city. The attack killed five men, five women, and five children.
The ongoing conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led fighters launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. Currently, 59 hostages are still held in Gaza, with 24 of them believed to be alive.
Since the start of the war, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 50,695 Palestinians have been killed, with another 115,338 injured. The figures include both civilians and combatants, although the exact breakdown remains unclear. Israel claims it has killed around 20,000 Hamas militants, though it has not provided evidence to support the figure.
The conflict continues to have a devastating impact on the civilian population, with widespread destruction, displacement, and severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.
