Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur confirms backdoor contacts in power circles

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur confirmed on Thursday that he has been in contact with power corridors, highlighting that positive developments have resulted from these meetings.
Speaking to the media, Gandapur said, “The positive vibes are coming, as the meetings are bringing positive developments.” He further emphasised that his confidence has been restored, leading to progress in discussions.
Earlier in the day, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar also confirmed that he had met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. During an informal chat with journalists at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar revealed that the meeting, which also involved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Gandapur, took place in Peshawar.
“We presented our entire case to COAS Asim Munir, and the response from the other side was encouraging,” said Gohar.
Regarding Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s comments on his party’s third-tier leaders meeting with PTI’s founder, Gandapur responded, “I have told the party’s founder that my stance has been clear. I will respond to Fazlur Rehman in the same vein as the chief minister.”
He further added that Fazlur Rehman’s political level is not comparable to that of PTI’s founder. Gandapur also urged Maulana Fazlur Rehman to address those who betrayed him, instead of discussing the PTI. “Maulana Sahib, you have been betrayed, and promises were not fulfilled. But those who betrayed you, take their names; don’t talk about us,” he concluded.
