Kuwait Municipality has disconnected electricity to five residential properties in Farwaniya Governorate as part of an enforcement drive against violations related to bachelor housing regulations.

According to the Municipality, the action was taken during a field inspection campaign carried out by the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department in coordination with relevant authorities. Officials said the campaign aimed to ensure strict compliance with approved housing and municipal rules.

Inspection teams identified multiple violations in the targeted properties, leading to immediate legal action. In addition to the electricity disconnections, authorities also issued 15 warning notices in the Omariya area for similar breaches.

The Municipality reaffirmed that ongoing inspection campaigns will continue across residential areas to address non-compliance and ensure that property owners adhere to housing regulations. Officials emphasised that enforcement measures are part of broader efforts to regulate occupancy standards and maintain order in residential zones.

Kuwait authorities have long monitored bachelor housing violations, which typically involve overcrowding or unauthorised shared accommodation in residential properties designated for family use.

Meanwhile, the General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that Kuwait International Airport remains fully operational and safe, despite ongoing precautionary security arrangements. Officials said passenger safety and the protection of property remain top priorities.

Acting Director General Duaij Al-Otaibi explained that some operational procedures have been temporarily adjusted as part of precautionary measures. These include the suspension of boarding bridge usage, with passengers being transported to aircraft via buses instead.

He added that special assistance services have been introduced at the airport for elderly passengers and individuals with special needs, including electric wheelchairs and dedicated mobility support within the terminal.

Authorities said normal boarding procedures are expected to resume after ongoing safety evaluations in coordination with security agencies are completed. Passengers have also been urged to adhere to travel schedules to avoid disruptions during peak demand periods.
