NADRA Offices Closed Today, Online Services Remain Active

ISLAMABAD: NADRA offices in Islamabad will remain closed today, Friday, December 26, for a public holiday. According to a notice, all offices will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday, December 27. During the closure, citizens can access NADRA services through the Pak-ID mobile application and helpline numbers.
Meanwhile, NADRA has extended operational hours at its Karachi Shahrah-e-Quaideen centre. The centre will remain functional from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. This step aims to make registration and other services more convenient for citizens.
Starting December 22, the Karachi Shahrah-e-Quaideen centre will introduce an evening shift. The evening shift will run from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. NADRA officials said this facilitation will help citizens complete registration more easily.
NADRA was established in 1998 as the National Database Organization under the Ministry of Interior. On March 10, 2000, it merged with the Directorate General of Registration to form NADRA. It now operates as an independent corporate body to provide efficient public services.
NADRA has gained international recognition for its secure identification and e-governance solutions. It helps prevent identity theft and facilitates citizens in accessing essential services. Officials said NADRA continues to improve services to meet public needs efficiently.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) continues to provide special facilities for persons with disabilities across Pakistan. On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, NADRA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of disability, can access identity documentation. The authority is determined to ensure no one is left behind in obtaining essential identification.
NADRA offers a special identification card for persons with disabilities. The card is free for first-time issuance and is valid for life. So far, more than 1 million of these ID cards have been issued, each with a distinctive mark to identify the holder’s disability. This initiative is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and equal access.
