Nawaz Sharif congratulates PM, Army Chief, and armed forces on successful defence

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif extended congratulations to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their successful defence and strategic response.

In a statement, Nawaz Sharif thanked Allah for the restoration of peace, emphasising that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation but fully committed to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This comes after Pakistan and India agreed to an immediate ceasefire through U.S.-brokered negotiations. U.S. President Donald Trump praised both countries for demonstrating “wisdom and maturity” in reaching the agreement.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri have officially confirmed the ceasefire, with both sides agreeing to halt further military operations.
