ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather forecast for December 21-26, 2024, predicting cloudy weather and light rain in the Potohar region, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attock, and northeastern parts of Punjab, on December 23-24 (Monday-Tuesday).

According to the NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), the majority of Punjab will experience cold and dry conditions throughout the week. Smog and fog are expected to persist in the plains, particularly impacting visibility and travel until December 26.

Balochistan and Sindh will see cold and dry weather for the entire period, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is anticipated to experience cold conditions, with isolated rainfall in various areas. Snowfall is also likely in the province’s hilly regions.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will have mostly cold weather, with isolated rain and snowfall over the hills.

The NDMA has urged local authorities, emergency services, and the public to stay vigilant and take precautions during this time. Travellers in northern and hilly areas are advised to exercise caution due to slippery roads and reduced visibility, particularly in areas affected by snow.
