Investigate TLP Violence

Punjab authorities have formed 12 Joint Investigation Teams (JITs) to investigate cases linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). The Punjab Home Department issued notifications establishing seven teams in Lahore and five in Sheikhupura. These teams are tasked with probing 12 high-profile cases related to terrorism and other serious offenses. The JITs include officials from the police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and other agencies, ensuring coordinated efforts.

The investigation follows a request by Punjab police to expedite the process. Over 75 cases have been registered against the TLP, and more than 2,000 suspects have been arrested so far. The authorities hope the JITs will provide clarity on these cases and hold extremist elements accountable. Special prosecutors have been appointed to speed up the legal proceedings.

Security sources have confirmed that the organizers of TLP’s recent violent protests have been identified. Authorities have compiled a list of their names, and the information has been shared with law enforcement agencies. Additionally, geo-fencing has helped pinpoint the TLP’s network and key command points. Call data records have also exposed the masterminds behind the violence.

Furthermore, authorities have prepared a list of TLP financiers and facilitators. A crackdown is expected soon as security teams review banking records to uncover any suspicious funding activities. Authorities have vowed a zero-tolerance policy against those responsible for lawless actions and disruptions. Special teams are ready to carry out raids based on identified suspects and funding sources.

Meanwhile, TLP leader Saad Hussain Rizvi and several of his supporters have been charged with terrorism. They are linked to violent attacks on police forces in Rawat, Taxila, and Muridke. The ongoing investigations aim to bring those involved in the violence to justice and restore peace.
