New rain spell to enter Pakistan next week

Islamabad: A new spell of rain and snowfall is expected to enter Pakistan next week, according to the Meteorological Department.
The western weather system will enter the country on February 24, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. Heavy rain and snowfall are forecasted for Gilgit-Baltistan from February 25 to March 2, while Azad Kashmir will also experience similar conditions during the same period.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and snowfall in upper areas are expected from February 24 to March 1. Punjab and Islamabad will likely see thunderstorms and rain from February 25 to March 1. Balochistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, and surrounding areas, will receive rain and snowfall between February 24 and February 26. Sindh may experience light rain in Larkana, Sukkur, and nearby areas on February 25 and 26.
Authorities have warned of road closures and slippery conditions in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, and other hilly areas. There is also a risk of flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir, along with landslides in mountainous regions.
The NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) has advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during the weather disturbance.
