Oman Boat Tragedy: 19 Pakistanis Missing, One Survivor Rescued

A tragic boat accident near Oman has left 19 Pakistanis missing, while only one survivor has been rescued.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) preliminary report, the boat carrying 20 Pakistani nationals capsized on September 7 after being caught in a storm.
During the chaos, a gas cylinder onboard exploded, sparking a fire and forcing all passengers to jump into the sea.
Out of the 20 passengers, only one, identified as Hamidullah Khan, survived.
He was rescued by a passing vessel and later taken into custody by Omani authorities. The Pakistani Embassy in Oman is actively working to secure his safe return.
Initial findings suggest that the ill-fated boat had departed from Gwadar, travelling through Iran before heading toward Oman.
The survivor has confirmed the identities of 11 of the missing individuals, while efforts are ongoing to gather details about the others.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Pakistani mission remains in close contact with Omani police and immigration officials to determine the fate of those missing.
