Over 48,000 E-Challans Issued in 14 Days

Karachi: Under the Track and Trace System, Karachi Police issued 48,211 e-challans in just 14 days for various traffic violations, while more than 4,500 citizens approached authorities for review or waiver of their fines.

According to 365News, the Karachi Traffic Police released detailed statistics:

🚗 Not wearing seat belts: 31,555 challans
🏍️ No helmet: 8,431 challans
Over-speeding: 2,304 challans
🚦 Signal violations: 2,009 challans
📱 Using mobile phone while driving: 1,263 challans
🚘 Tinted windows: 670 challans
🔢 Fancy number plates: 585 challans
🔄 Wrong-way driving: 556 challans
🚌 Carrying passengers on vehicle roofs: 368 challans

🚫 No parking: 250 challans
Stop line violations: 233 challans
⚖️ Overloading or improper loading: 132 challans
🛣️ Lane discipline violations: 65 challans
🔙 Wrong entry in one-way streets: 58 challans

According to the Traffic Police spokesperson, no e-challans have been issued yet for non-payment of vehicle taxes.

The spokesperson further added that after receiving the first batch of e-challans, 4,800 citizens visited traffic facilitation centers, where 90% of their fines were waived, while the remaining cases have been referred to a special review committee for further evaluation and decisions.
