Overseas Pakistanis Send $9.53 Billion in First Quarter

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released new data showing a significant rise in remittances from overseas Pakistanis.
According to the report, expatriates sent $3.18 billion to Pakistan in September 2025, marking strong inflows despite global economic challenges.
The breakdown shows that $750 million came from Saudi Arabia, $670 million from the United Arab Emirates, and $450 million from the United Kingdom during September.
Over the first three months of the current fiscal year, remittances from Saudi Arabia totaled $2.31 billion, from the UAE $1.98 billion, from the UK $1.36 billion, and from Europe $1.28 billion. Meanwhile, Pakistanis residing in the United States sent $800 million.
Overall, remittances in the first quarter of the current fiscal year amounted to $9.53 billion, reflecting an 8.4% increase compared to the same period last year. The SBP attributed this growth to improved banking channels and incentives encouraging legal money transfers.
