Lahore: Pakistan secured a convincing 93-run victory over South Africa in the first Test match of the two-match series, taking a 1-0 lead.

The match, played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, ended on the fourth day after Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the Proteas batting lineup.

Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali was the star of the match, claiming a total of 10 wickets — 6 in the first innings and 4 in the second — delivering a match-winning performance.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi supported well, taking 4 wickets, while Sajid Ali picked up 5 wickets and Salman Ali Agha contributed with 1 wicket.

Pakistan’s bowlers completely outclassed South Africa’s batting, wrapping up the match with a day to spare.

Lahore: The captains of Pakistan and South Africa unveiled the Test series trophy at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood and South African Test captain Aiden Markram formally introduced the trophy ahead of the series.

Aiden Markram also toured the NCA museum, where Shan Masood briefed him about the various trophies and their significance displayed there.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the national squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa, with three new players earning a call-up.

Shan Masood will lead the team in the two-match series, while Asif Afridi, Faisal Akram, and Rohail Nazir have been named as the new inclusions.

The first Test will be played from October 12 to 16, 2025, at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, while the second Test is scheduled for October 20 to 24 in Rawalpindi. The national training camp will run in Lahore from September 30 to October 8.
