Pakistan has emerged among the world’s top 10 exporters of truck and bus radial (TBR) tyres to major international markets, including the United States and Brazil, reflecting the growing strength of the country’s tyre manufacturing industry.

According to a statement issued by Service Long March Tyres Ltd, the company has significantly expanded its export operations since beginning commercial production in 2022. The manufacturer has recorded notable export growth in established markets such as the US and Brazil, while also increasing its presence in emerging markets including South Africa and Egypt.

The company said it is using advanced Chinese manufacturing technology to maintain one of the lowest production cost structures among tyre manufacturers in Pakistan. This competitive advantage has enabled the firm to export nearly 40 per cent of its truck and bus radial tyre production to international markets.

Pakistan’s domestic tyre market also continues to grow steadily. Industry estimates place annual demand for truck and bus tyres at approximately 1.7 million units, while demand for passenger vehicle tyres is estimated at around seven million units per year.

Historically, much of this domestic demand was fulfilled through imports. However, local manufacturing capacity has expanded in recent years, allowing Pakistani producers to gradually replace imported tyre volumes with locally manufactured products.

Currently, Service Long March Tyres produces nearly 1.6 million TBR tyres annually. The company plans to increase production capacity to two million units by July 2026 and further expand to 2.2 million units by June 2027.

The company also claims to hold an estimated 58 per cent share of Pakistan’s domestic truck and bus radial tyre segment, making it one of the leading players in the country’s tyre industry.

The export growth highlights Pakistan’s increasing participation in global industrial and manufacturing supply chains while supporting foreign exchange earnings and industrial development.
