Pakistan to Highlight Palestine, Kashmir and Global Challenges at UNGA

A high-level summit on the Palestine issue, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, is being held today at the United Nations.

 

The conference will focus on the two-state solution for Palestine. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is attending the session.

According to the Foreign Office, the Prime Minister will represent Pakistan at the UN General Assembly from September 22 to 26. In his address, he will emphasise the right to self-determination for both Palestinians and Kashmiris while drawing international attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The spokesperson added that Prime Minister Sharif’s speech will also cover pressing global challenges, including terrorism, climate change, and Islamophobia.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will attend several high-level events and special sessions.

He is also scheduled to meet world leaders and UN officials for bilateral discussions. Furthermore, he will join other leaders from Islamic countries in a meeting with the U.S. President.
