PM Assures Safe Return of Pakistani Detainees from Israel

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, to assure him that the government is working hard for the safe return of Pakistani detainees held by Israel, including former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ending the violence in Palestine and stopping the killing of innocent people.
During the phone call, Prime Minister Sharif stressed Pakistan’s clear and firm position on the Palestine issue. He said Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian people on international platforms and will continue to do so. He also repeated Pakistan’s demand for a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Prime Minister informed Hafiz Naeem that the government is actively engaging with friendly countries to bring back the Pakistani detainees safely. He made it clear that Pakistan does not recognize Israel and has no diplomatic relations with it. The Prime Minister also expressed hope that peace efforts by Islamic countries in the region will soon succeed.
The leaders also discussed the current situation in Kashmir. Prime Minister Sharif said the federal government is fully committed to maintaining peace in Kashmir and will continue its efforts. Hafiz Naeem emphasized that the issue of Pakistani detainees is important for the entire nation, not just his party.

Reports from Arab media say that Israeli forces have seized 43 ships from the Samood Flotilla and arrested nearly 500 activists, including former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan. These detainees are being moved to a desert prison. The Prime Minister and Jamaat-e-Islami leader both stressed the need for the safe return of Pakistani detainees to their homeland as soon as possible.
